Sewing Classes in Shetland @ Uphouse Crafts - 3 hour sessions

Learn to sew in Shetland with classes at Uphouse Crafts.

Open to residents and visitors, these one-day classes are held at my workshop in Aith. Find us easily with the directions on our website.   If you are 15 or under you should be accompanied by an adult.

Classes are 3 hours long. Cost ranges from £60-62 per person, with a 50% discount for booking for two people. Kits are included in the cost.

Sewing machines provided, or bring your own. Must be capable of straight, zig zag, and button hole stitches.

What are the 3 hour sewing classes available?

Sew your own Bunting

Learn how to sew your own bunting! In this class, you’ll cut, sew, and assemble your own strip of bunting. You’ll master the techniques needed to adjust the length and size of your bunting, and explore different ways to finish the ends based on how you want to attach it.

During the session, you’ll create two 1-meter strips of mini bunting, perfect for hanging on doors. You’ll also have a variety of fabrics to choose from, including festive Christmas options.

Make a Zip Pouch

Would you like to learn to sew a zip pouch? You will learn how to cut out your fabric, choose from quilted or interfaced, learn to add tabs to your zip and how to insert it with a lining.

You will also get a copy of the Uphouse Crafts Zip Pouch pattern, and learn how to alter the size to suit your needs.
