My sewing room essentials

Every day when I get set up for cutting out or sewing there are items that I automatically reach for. They are my favourites and over time have become part of my essential kit.
When you are first starting out you don’t need all of these, you can add to your kit as and when you need something or when you can afford it. As a hobby sewing is not a low cost hobby, but once you have the essentials it need not be unaffordable.
You can upcycle fabric from charity shops, or unloved items in your own wardrobe. Duvet covers and fleece blankets are also affordable ways to get fabric. Check out end of season sales too.
Below is a list of my essential sewing kit for the sewing I do, this will differ depending on the type of sewing you do. I mainly make bags, purses, accessories and young kids clothing. My essentials are:
